Mark is the Senior Technical Manager for the Construction Products Association, responsible for monitoring and interpreting UK and EU building and product regulations and standards. As the secretariat for the Association’s Technical Committee, he is the principal liaison with the members to advise government, regulators, certification bodies and research bodies on those same regulations and standards.

At the start of his career Mark gained a degree in Timber Technology and has since spent over 30 years in the construction product sector gaining experience working in builders’ merchants, timber frame and steel frame manufacturing and 15 years in the testing, certification and approvals of construction products.

During his time with BM TRADA, BBA and BRE Mark gained an in-depth knowledge of the Construction Products Directive (CPD) and subsequent Regulation (CPR) including the accreditation requirements as well as the product testing and certification requirements through harmonised standards and European Technical Assessments (ETAs).

Mark’s experience has been in technical and commercial roles, including many years as a member of the Technical Board of EOTA (European Organisation for technical Assessment), as well as UK mirror groups for CE marking.

Mark is a Professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3).
