LEXiCON
The Construction Products Association (CPA) and the Construction Innovation Hub (Hub) have partnered to deliver the LEXiCON project.
The aim of the LEXiCON project is to support international best practice for the creation and management of product data by standardising the production, use, and management of product data. This will be achieved through the development of a consensus process for the collaborative formation of product data templates and a software platform with a free-to-access industry portal to facilitate the creation, grouping, filtering and verification of properties to form Product Data Templates (PDTs). The templates and properties will be made available on a free to access software platform for wider industry, which will be created by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) as part of the Hub Programme.
The LEXiCON Methodology: Creating Relevant Authorities and achieving consensus (Phase 1 report)
This report outlines the principles of LEXiCON, what it is and the principles behind creating Relevant Authorities for the creation, publish and management of standardised consensus-agreed product data templates (PDTs).
LEXiCON Phase 2 – Summary Report
This report develops further processes behind two main principles identified in the LEXiCON methodology, namely the processes for registration, including registering Relevant Authorities, and the processes for creating, publishing and managing product data templates (PDTs). It also describes the development of a MVP for the LEXiCON platform, and outlines what work is outstanding to be completed in Phase 3 of LEXiCON.
